About Me

Dr. Liu CAO (曹琉) is currently an Assistant Professor in Electronic Information Engineering at City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan). He received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2019 and an M.S. degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA, in 2019, and a B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Jinan University, Guangzhou, China, in 2017.

Research Interests

My research primarily focuses on the cross-layer (PHY + MAC) performance analysis/optimization for next-generation mobile communications aligning with 3GPP/IEEE 802.11 standard, including but not limited to:

  • 5G/6G Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X)
  • Next-gen Wi-Fi techniques
  • Generative AI/ML for Wireless PHY
  • PHY Layer Abstraction
  • 6G Non-terrestrial Networks
